Vietnam Work Projects

Global Volunteers' unique philosophy of service ensures your work projects help advance the host community's current development vision and goals. Always serving at the invitation and under the direction of host community partners, each Global Volunteers team member works alongside local people, and personally contributes to needed project financing through their service program fee. Our long-term commitment to work in partnership on sustained community development projects enables you, in just a short time, to serve as a critical link in a chain of lasting community enhancements.

Global Volunteers CEO, Bud Philbrook, Teaches a Lesson in VietnamWork with us as a short-term volunteer to help advance English -- the international language of commerce, technology, and opportunity -- among Hanoi's future leaders. Our host, the Ministry of Education and Training, strives to graduate at least 1,000 qualified English teachers every year, in addition to translators, engineers, computer scientists, business people, etc. -- all fluent in English. This is where you can make a significant difference!

"I really appreciate what the Global Volunteers do for us. You come not only like friends, teachers, colleagues but also like angels with all enthusiasm, respect, and friendliness."
~ Nguyen Thu Huong, Foreign Trade University

Please note: the Vietnamese government set a maximum age of 75 years for volunteer service in Vietnam.

In a neighboring community, the SOS Children's Village needs your help in June, July or August to improve their campus facilities. This local NGO provides homes and education for seriously at-risk children. Your effort and compassion is so greatly apprecaited here. Previous teams have assisted with light labor and one-on-one classroom tutoring, all to the delight of the eager and optimistic children and staff. All adults, up to age 75 -- regardless of professional background -- can assist on this project!

"Working at SOS was one of the best of the six programs I've been with Global Volunteers on. I loved every day."
~ Susan Johnson, Vietnam Volunteer
